God wants to do something significant

I often say that there is something very significant about corporate worship: the coming together of God’s people with an enthusiasm and determination to praise the living God!
Isaiah gives a clue to the catalyst for authentic praise and worship. He exhorts the people, ‘Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.’ (Isaiah 12:6) It’s in that absolute certainty that the Holy One is among us where we start to switch on to the fact that this is no ordinary get-together!

Let’s be awakened again by the revelation that the living God, who gave his son and sent his Holy Spirit, seeks to be found among people just like us. Our greatest response has to be exuberant praise and worship and an anticipation that the King of Glory wants to do something significant in us and through us as we gather in the matchless name of Jesus!
