Come

Whatever this last week has delivered for you, I want to encourage you that God is more than enough! For most of us, there will have been some challenges for us to overcome of varying degrees; maybe you’ve ended the week with stuff unresolved. We believe in being part of a local church: not just because you’ll encounter a great bunch of people and be uplifted by Christ-centred praise, worship and preaching, but because God is here!

He’s with us when we’re alone, too, but when we come together there’s an added dynamic! We become part of the Lord’s ‘building project’, after all, He is still ‘building His church’, a declaration He made in Matthew 16:18, and He hasn’t quite finished with us yet, a great relief for those of us who feel we’ve a little further to go in our walk. Jesus has you and me in His focus. He spurs us on, celebrating our victories with us, and when things are hard, He says, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’ (Matthew 11:28) It’s truly great that, however we are feeling today and whatever situation we find ourselves in, the Lord has us covered and exhorts us to ‘come to Him’!
