I hope you’ll agree that it’s great to be back to our usual time of meeting today. I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who made our Christmas and New Year events a real success and, as we progress into 2017, let’s continue to build upon the momentum! I’m more and more convinced that, as the body of Christ, we should be the most confident people on the planet. I’m reminded of that wonderful piece of scripture found in 1 John that makes the following declaration: ‘See, what great love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are.’ (1 John 3:1) The security of God’s love is only found through Jesus Christ; it is Jesus who secures the way to the Father’s heart for us.
However, the Father’s love doesn’t only secure us for eternity with Himself, it is the means by which we make a difference to our world. At a time when hate and fear seem to be the order of the day, let’s unleash God’s love indiscriminately and be instrumental in showing our world some of what kingdom order looks like by fearlessly demonstrating why Jesus is so awesome!
