An eventful week

After a very eventful week, especially on the political stage, I am convinced, more than ever, that our nation needs to rediscover its Christian heritage. When certainty and stability are present, apathy towards faith is never far away and, when disorder grips, there are many who go into ‘fear mode’. In my mind, the last ten days have proved again that we live in a society that desperately needs to return to its saviour! In the midst of all of the uncertainty, let’s not add to that fear, but live out of the exhortation given by the author of the book of Hebrews to ‘hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful’ (Hebrews 10:23). The hope? The gospel! The one who is faithful? The Lord Jesus Christ! I want to suggest that these are days for the church to rise up and demonstrate faith over fear, so let us live courageously, fearlessly and faithfully as we share our hope with those around us!
